Introduction

Dr. Diane Urista鈥檚 research focuses on the symbiotic relationship between performance and analysis, embodied musical understanding and aural skills pedagogy. Her book, The Moving Body in the Aural Skills Classroom, was published by Oxford University Press in 2016. Urista is the recipient of many awards and fellowships, including the American Dissertation Fellowship from the Association of University Women, Mellon Foundation, and President鈥檚 Fellowship from Columbia University. Urista currently serves on the editorial board for The Journal of Music Theory Pedagogy.
