The New York Times calls them “first-rate in every way.” Now you can hear for yourself one of the most dynamic professional chamber orchestras to take the stage. Comprised of 18 of the nation’s top Black and Latino classical soloists, the Sphinx Virtuosi present a collection of concerti through the ages. From baroque to modern day, the program has something for every listener, showcasing tremendous variety in languages and styles, from baroque to contemporary.
Program includes:
- LOPEZ Guardian of the Horizon: Concerto Grosso for Violin, Cello and Strings
- ABELS Delights and Dances
- VIVALDI Concerto for Violin and Cello in B-flat Major
- BEETHOVEN Grosse Fugue
Please note: This concert has been moved to Kulas Hall at Ӱԭ, due to demand for seats. If you have a seating pass that shows the concert in Mixon Hall, it will be honored at the door.
