Lightness of Being
Mozart and Mendelssohn, both undisputed masters of the light touch, perfectly illustrate the 鈥渓ightness of being鈥 in musical terms. A mesmerizing performance by the 鈥渆lectrifying鈥 (New York Times) cellist Jay Campbell provides a thought-provoking introduction to a supreme achievement of the classical era, Mozart鈥檚 Clarinet Quintet, beloved for its exquisite colors and radiant virtuosity. Written when he was just 15, Mendelssohn鈥檚 Piano Sextet combines youthful vigor and ambition with a delicate filigree lightness, bringing ChamberFest Cleveland鈥檚 11th season to a brilliant, joyous finish.
