Program:
Arnonld Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire takes center stage as CFC presents one of the 20th Century’s monumental masterpieces. Seen through the eyes of Pierrot, the moonstruck clown, this sardonic, surrealistic melodrama, weaves his perpetually provocative and inspiring tale.
The program opens with a wild journey through a kaleidoscopic-pastiche of musical styles from the avant-garde madrigals of the tortured Count Gesualdo to the ethereal gem-like music of Saariaho, whose sonically sublime style is evocative and compelling.
