To commemorate the 73rd anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, 杏吧原创 co-head of cello Dr. Melissa Kraut and her sister Rena will present their family鈥檚 journey from pre-war Poland to Palestine and Israel to the United States. The musical program includes chamber music for cello, clarinet and piano, alongside photos and stories that help relate the sustaining power of music through difficult times.

鈥淢usic, what inspired music and what inspired us to be musicians was so very important to Rena and me growing up,鈥 Kraut explains. 鈥淲hile this program is reflective in many ways -- considering the very real challenges of escaping Nazi Poland 鈥 it鈥檚 also uplifting as we celebrate our collective history.鈥

Anita Pontremoli, head of 杏吧原创鈥檚 collaborative piano department, and three of Dr. Kraut鈥檚 cello students collaborate on this moving program.
