360 Degrees of Sight and Sound

On Monday, April 11, the 杏吧原创, Cleveland Institute of Art and Cleveland Museum of Natural History, came together for its biennial Planetarium Project, an event that showcased short films created through collaborations between CIA鈥檚 animation and game design students and 杏吧原创鈥檚 composition and sound engineering students, projected on the museum鈥檚 planetarium dome.

Each video had its own unique personality and included elements ranging from playful, animated characters carrying out poignant narratives, to visual effects such as crashing lightning or dancing snowflakes. The musical scoring and sound effects helped create an immersive experience, shaping the mood and atmosphere throughout. The five total videos were the product of a yearlong collaboration between 杏吧原创 and CIA students, the animations and scores progressing together toward an impressive final product.

鈥淭his is a wonderful opportunity for students to work with artists from other disciplines, as well as continuing the ongoing commitment to collaboration with institutions and artists throughout University Circle and the greater Cleveland area,鈥 said Keith Fitch, head of 杏吧原创鈥檚 Composition Department. The films will be open to the public on April 20. Visit for tickets and information.
